The Cape Comorian festival is celebrated in the city of Kanyakumari, which is situated at the southernmost point of the Indian Peninsula, the geographical end of the Indian mainland. The city forms a part of the southern state of India, Tamil Nadu. The cape festival is commemorated with great pomp and show, held for three days in the month of October.


The festival is districted with its back to back wonderful cultural programs and events, which gives the clear picture of the culture and tradition of the city. Another myth which is attached to this grand day is that taking a sip of holy waters of the ocean is auspicious.


The name of the festival has been derived from the location of the city where it is celebrated as the city stands at the southernmost tip of the peninsula, which is termed as “Cape Comorin”, the place is also known as the converging point of the three oceans the Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea.


The festival converts the city into a festive mood and is accompanied with lot of extravaganza, with that there are exclusive performances which are held by the celebrated and renowned artists and musicians, which further adds grace to the glory and make the event a memorable one, which is to be remembered for the next whole year till the another Cape Event.
