Desert Fair

Every year in the middle of the desert around the Jaisalmer city in Rajasthan organized a bright and lively Desert Fair. The festival is organized by the Department of Tourism around the months of January-February.The desert fair is one such place where large number of people visit to have the glance at the rich cultural heritage of the Rajasthan state. One of the major attractions in the fair is the Rajasthani folk dance. The show is also coordinated by great music and story of romance and drama. Dancers wearing colorful and bright clothes look beautiful and are largely appreciated by the visitors. The traditional music in the fair is the way to enhance the culture of Rajasthan.Puppeteers, acrobats, camel tattoo show, camel races, camel polo, traditional procession, camel mounted band and folk dances are the other interesting elements of the desert fair. Apart from that, people dressed the ethnic way with big mustached along with their camels come to participate in various camels competitions such as camel dances and camel acrobatics.Other than that, the visitors in the fair can come and participate in the events like Tug of war and Panihari Matka race to have the complete fun at the fair. Also, turban tying competitions and the Mr. Desert competitions focus on the length and style of moustaches are the various interesting thrilling events enjoyed at the desert fair.
