Baneshwar means the ‘master of the delta’ and it is derived from the Shiva Linga worshipped in the Mahadev temple in Dungarpur. Baneshwar is a simple religious fair with some traditional rituals. The fair is popular amongst the tribal people called as Bhils who come from various parts of the country to visit the fair especially from the states of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat to pray Lord Shiva. <p >Prayers are done in morning and evening at the Baneshwar Mahadev temple.
