Konark Dance Festival is an amazing dance festival celebrated at the famous sun temple of Orissa, India. Various talented classical dancers from all over the country gather at Konark Dance Festival from 1 December to 5 December to pay tribute to the historical Sun temple. The Konark Dance festival is organized by eminent Odissi Guru Gangadhar Pradhans Odisha (Orissa) Dance Academy in association with the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre.
Konark Dance festival is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. As the sun sets, the open auditorium at the sun temple gets filled with musical beats and rhythmic movements under the star lit sky. The festival is truly an amazing cultural event where one can have great timevsiting this splendid cultural program. Odissi, Bharathnatyam, Manipuri, Kathak and Chau are the various dances that are performed at the festival. The festival is a great place to enjoy the glittering dances and impressive music. The sound of Ghungroo bells, flute and Pakhauj further adds charm to the festive mood.
At the Konark Dance Mela, the craft Mela is also organized where you can put up some interesting handicrafts and can taste the flavor of various cultural cuisines famous at the place. This further increases interest in the Mela and make it a perfect for the complete family to be together.
