Gopalpur is a census town which comes under the supervision of Ranaghat Police station of the subdivision of Ranaghat, lying in the district of Nadia, forming a part of the north eastern Indian state of West Bengal. The region lies on the alluvial plains that lie in the eastern side of the Hooghly River.
As of 2001 census India, the town of Gopalpur constituted population that numbered to 6,480. Out of the totatl population, the male population constituted 51% and the females constituted 49% of population.
