The district of Shahjahanpur is positioned in the south eastern side of Rohilkhand Division. The town was instituted in 1813 by the British Government. Shahjahanpur is a municipal board, town and district headquarters of Shahjahanpur District, which lies in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The town is a part of Bareilly division which stands at the South East of Rohilkhand Division. The tehlists of the district are Powayan, Tilhar, Jalalabad, and Sadar. Geologically, it is positioned at 27.35 N Latitude and 79.37 E longitudes. The adjoining districts of the Shahjahanpur are Lakhimpur Khiri, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Bareilly, Budaun & Pilibhit.
