The Manchester of the East, Ranchi known to be the erstwhile summer capital of Bihar state is the state capital of the newly founded state, Jharkhand. The city nestles in the valley of Chotanagpur at an altitude of 2140 ft above sea level.


Ranchi is bestowed with natural resources like minerals that accounts for 18% of the total mineral content of the nation. The Ranchi district has it’s headquarter the city itself, which was initially known by a name of Lohardaga. Initially it was an imperative administrative and military stand of the eastern India, which dates back to the British reign. Later on, it developed into a trade and commerce centre for sericulture as well as the leading manufacturer of shellac. Ranchi is also acknowledged as the ‘vegetable bowl’ for the reason it has thick vegetation of green vegetables.
