The Srikhand Peak is associated with Goddess Lakshmi. Sarahan is also popular because of the legend Bhimkali. According to the myths, it is believed that in the ancient times, when demons attacked Himalayas and distressed the saints, Lord Vishnu with his supernatural powers lighted fire and from this fire, there appeared a young girl who is believed to be goddess Lakshmi or ‘Adishakti’. The Bhimakali temple is regarded as one of the Fifty One sacred Shaktipeeths. The carving done on these temples is in the Indo-Tibetan style. Saharan is also the gateway to Kinnaur, a heavenly place of pilgrimage and nature lovers. Other popular places to visit in Sarahan are Bird Park, Bhaba Valley, Gaura, Jeori, Darang Ghati, Hatu Peak, Kacheri, Kotgarh and Thanedhar and Jallori Pass.


Climate of Sarahan
Sarahan experiences a cool and pleasant climate in summers with bearing chilly winds in winters. Here summers are in the months of April till June with moderate climatic conditions and then monsoon comes on the centre stage in the month of August and lasts till November, ranging from mild to medium showers, passing it hold on to winters in December which maintains its presence till March with taking the temperature to the freezing point. The best season to visit Sarahan is from April to November.

Sarahan By Air: The nearest airport to Sarahan is Jubbarhatti in Shimla, which is at a distance of 175 kms. Thereafter, you need to board a bus or a taxi to reach Sarahan.


Sarahan By Rail: The nearest rail terminal is Shimla at a distance of about 176 km.


Sarahan By Road: bus services are available from delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla and from many other cities to Sarahan.
