The Manginapudi Beach at Vijayawada creates a reminiscence of heaven that we have read in fairytales, during our childhood. Those enigmatic golden sea shores along, the coastline of Andhra Pradesh is a natural splendor and also holds historical significance. This natural bay offers many water sport activities due to its shallow and safe waters. The other unique feature of this beach is that it possesses black soil instead of those common sands that are a major component of the beaches.


The beach also holds a festival called as “Krishna Utsav”, which is held in the months February and March attracts many visitors to the place. On the banks of the sea coast, there is an ancient pilgrimage, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, called Dattashram. Like the sanctification with having a bath from the nine wells in Rameshwaram, likewise this pilgrimage is known as ‘Datta Rameshwaram’. On the sea cliff, there is an old lighthouse, which is another source of attraction at the beach. This glorious beach has a close association with the Dutch people and serves as a gateway for the commercial activities in India.


The beach of Manginapudi is an exotic getaway which lets its visitors to have time with them in solitude, amidst the natural beauty. The Manginapudi Beach is easily accessible via both road and rail. It is located just at a distance of 65 km from the city of Vijayawada rail head. The nearest Railway station is Machilipatnam at a distance of 15 km.
