Bageshwar Namik is a beautiful glacier situated at an altitude of 3, 600 meters in Pithoragarh district of Uttrakhand state of India. The word ‘Namik’ means a place with saline water springs. It is an astounding glacier situated in the pristine surroundings of Kumaon Himalayas. The glacier also lies in the middle of three captivating Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and Trishuli. It is the source of river Ramganaga and is close to the two villages, Gogina and Namik. More interestingly, the glacier is located on an ancient Indo-Tibet trade route and is one of the major attractions for tourists in Uttrakhand.


Trek to Namik Glacier
Namik is a beautiful Himalayan peak which offers an immense trekking pleasure. Passing through the gorgeous Himalayan terrain along with the greenery all around will leave you mesmerized for lifetime. Apart from that, the trek will also let you witness various beautiful waterfalls and water springs originating from the glacier. The trek starts from Munsiyari which is the base camp for this trek. A 7 kms trek from Munsiyari will make you reach to the Senar Gad meadows. From there, an 11 kms trek will lead you to Dhaldauk and further trek of 7 Km, to Sudamkhan. From Sudamkhan, Hiramani glacier is just 9kms away from where a further 5km trek will make reach to the final destination which is Namik Glacier. Trekking to beautiful meadows will be very fascinating and rejuvenating as well. The trek will recharge you to go and further lead your daily busy life.
